I laughed when I saw this as I had JUST remembered an hour ago that it was one year ago in early November that I left the path of nun (after 6 years). So one year ago, I was in a discernment period about my life and path in a very deep soul-level way. From the perspective of being where I am now and talking to the 'me' of one year ago - I'd say
"Breathe. Be at Peace. Your life will unfold beautifully as it should. Be gentle with yourself. There's nothing to forgive for the decision to leave the path. You must be true to your heart and the inner callings of your soul. Your work WILL continue as it has been unfolding over the years. Your values and purpose will remain the same - although will deepen and evolve as that's the nature of your path. Take a rest - play - and BE. In about a years time, you will have deeper clarity about what it looks like to walk this path as a lay person. Give yourself time and space to experiment and reintegrate into the world. Be OK with getting messy in this process - you'll learn in a deeper way. You have been given the freedom to find your own way (both by your own decision and with the grace and blessing of your teacher from absolute love, acceptance and compassion). You will find a way to serve and be that will be authentic to you and from this space you will touch many lives."
